Mandy is originally from Canada and has made Hong Kong her home since 2015. She adopts a person-centred approach in her counselling practice, characterized by an empathic and non-judgmental stance. Mandy is dedicated to facilitating her clients' journeys toward enhanced self-confidence and self-awareness, believing that fostering a supportive environment is crucial for personal growth.
In her practice, Mandy employs a variety of evidence-based techniques. She utilizes Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to equip clients with practical tools that promote self-reliance, contentment, and personal fulfillment. Additionally, she incorporates Art Therapy, integrating creative modalities to support emotional healing and expression. Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is also integrated into her approach by concentrating on identifying and implementing solutions rather than dwelling on problems.
Mandy provides counselling for a diverse range of mental health concerns, such as stress, anxiety, depression, and trauma. She is passionate about assisting individuals in overcoming challenges related to eating disorders, self-harming behaviors, and body image issues. Furthermore, she is dedicated to youth development, helping young individuals enhance their social skills and improve interpersonal relationships with peers and family members.
Prior to her work in counselling, Mandy served as an Elementary School Teacher in both Canada and Hong Kong, accumulating over ten years of experience in educational settings. This background has equipped her with valuable insights into the complexities of child and adolescent development. She firmly believes in the importance of establishing a genuine rapport with her clients through compassionate listening, ensuring that each individual feels valued and heard.
